Gibson Heads to Japan and Denmark

Gibson Heads to Japan and Denmark

We’ve recently added to our export markets, with two new distributor-retailer relationships in both Denmark and Japan. A selection of wines from our Barossa portfolio will become available in both international markets from next month.

Gibson joins Vinotto in Denmark, a fine wine specialist established in 1998. Privately owned by Henrik Lykke Mose, Jesper Lyster and Jan Bjergskov Larsen, Vinotto have serviced the Danish wholesale trade for over 25 years. Vinotto also operate an online store and run regular consumer events at their showroom in Hedehusene, outside of Copenhagen.

We join Vinotto as their flagship Australian producer, specifically to cater to premium Danish retail stores and private clients. Vinotto will also import Gibson’s collaborative bottling with Weber Grill Academy – Smokey Oak Shiraz – with the intention to showcase the wine in the Weber store and Grill Academy network across Denmark.

Our new import partnership in Japan is with Myriad Wines, the emerging vision of Australian-born Tessa Goodall and partner Tatsuya. The pair launched Myriad in 2022 with the opening of their self- operated retail boutique in Otaru on the Northern Japanese province, Hokkaido. Specialising solely on Australian wine, Gibson joins fellow Barossa vintner, Rusden, among Myriad’s initial brand partners.

Adamant to introduce their network to smaller, quality minded wine producers, Tessa and Tatsuya have established a series of regular consumer tastings and wine events across Japan. The Myriad portfolio is also available at several fine dining restaurants in Niseko and Hokkaido’s capital, Sapporo.
