Gibson Wines is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their very first humble vintage with a celebration long lunch at their winery on Thursday 26 August 2021.
The highly admired small-batch winery, which specialises in red and red blends, is releasing exclusive wine packs over the coming weeks to celebrate the achievement. Packs are available for the general public and can be purchased on the website, while stocks last.
The 25th Anniversary Celebration Long Lunch, which runs from 12:30pm on 26 August, will feature live music by Cloudy, open fires, fire roasted meats and vegetables by Comida, the Gibson family and of course, Gibson wines.
Tickets are essential and can be booked online but will sell out fast.
Rob Gibson, known locally as the Dirtman, reflected on the milestone accomplishment at Gibson Wines.
“A good small team of devoted individuals makes for our long-term achievement over 25 years. It is time to celebrate this great milestone,” Rob said.
The Gibson family; including the Darling, the Duke and the Dirtman himself; will be personally pouring their favourite drops from their large range to eager wine enthusiasts.
Rob is excited about the upcoming event.
“This long lunch is where we can tell stories, open some of our favourite wines and just have a bloody good time in the way the Barossa does so well,” Rob said.
“We are proud of our long list of accolades every year over 25 years. We know the essential ingredients for consistent wine quality over many seasons in many Barossa locations.”
In honour of the 25 vintages under the Gibson name, a limited number of special release packs have been launched weekly on a Thursday, starting with Rob Gibson’s beloved Merlot. Each pack includes two museum releases, handpicked by Rob, one current vintage and tasting notes from Rob Gibson.
The packs are a great way for keen wine enthusiasts, or those wanting to experience aged wines, to get their hands on museum wines that aren’t often available.
Rob Gibson spoke fondly of his limited Merlot packs.
“Contrary to many opinions, merlots age really quite well. But don’t just take my word for it, grab one of our limited release packs to try for yourself,” said Rob.
Special release packs are available in the online shop.
