The Journey to Discovery Road Riesling Seltzer
We’ve spent years crafting award-winning Riesling from our Burkes Hill Vineyard in Eden Valley. This vineyard, perched high in the Barossa’s cool climate zone, produces Riesling with exceptional citrus character and mineral elegance. But we wanted to take things a step further—to create something that wasn’t just another Riesling but an entirely new experience. That’s where the idea for our Riesling Seltzer was born.
Seltzers have been gaining popularity in recent years, especially among those looking for something light, refreshing, and easy to enjoy. But while many seltzers are made with neutral alcohol bases, we knew that the vibrant flavours of Eden Valley Riesling would bring something special to the table. And so, our Discovery Road Riesling Seltzer was born.
Crafting the Perfect Blend
Creating this seltzer wasn’t just about adding bubbles to wine; it was about crafting a balanced, refreshing drink that stayed true to the quality we’re known for. We started with our 2024 vintage Eden Valley Riesling, known for its bright citrus notes and crisp acidity. We then partnered with A Rock & A Hard Place, a premium spring water brand from the Adelaide Hills. Their water, sourced from Mount Lofty’s natural springs, is known for its purity—perfect for showcasing the natural flavours of our Riesling.
To add a unique twist, we infused the seltzer with native lemongrass botanicals, discovered through our collaboration with the Barossa Bushgardens. This botanical adds a subtle lemon sorbet aroma that pairs beautifully with the Riesling’s citrus notes, creating a seltzer that’s light, spritzy, and incredibly refreshing.
