Bin 75: A Lifetime of Learning
There are wines made to impress, and wines made to mean something. Bin 75 is the latter.
This October, Gibson Wines releases Bin 75 — a limited-release 2024 Barossa Shiraz and the most personal wine Rob Gibson has ever made. It marks two milestones at once: Rob's 75th birthday, and Gibson Wines' 30th year in the Barossa. More than that, it marks the end of a chapter. Bin 75 is Rob's final new wine release.
"The Bin 75 represents a lifetime of learning. This will be my final new wine release. After talking about retiring for many years, it's time for me to step away from winemaking."

Fifty years in the making
Rob Gibson didn't come to wine in a straight line. He came through the ground. A geologist before he was a winemaker, Rob spent his early career reading the land — understanding what lay beneath the surface, what the soil said about a place, what a vineyard was trying to tell you if you paid close enough attention.
That instinct never left him. When he and Anne established Gibson Wines at Light Pass in 1996, it wasn't just a winery they were building. It was a philosophy. Dirtborn, Rob calls it. The idea that the best wines begin and end in the ground.
More than five decades of that thinking is what sits inside a bottle of Bin 75.

The wine
Premium fruit was selected from some of the best parcels across the Barossa and Eden Valleys, with Rob drawing on a lifetime of experience in blending fruit from both regions. The 2024 Barossa Shiraz was matured for 24 months in French oak.
2,000 bottles. That's all there is.
"The Bin series has always been about wines made with time in mind — wines to lay down, to age, and to open on special occasions. Bin 75 is the most personal of them all."

A new chapter
As Rob steps back, Gibson Wines moves forward. Second generation winemaker Adam Fiegert is stepping up to shape the winery's next chapter, carrying forward the Dirtborn philosophy, the grower relationships and the deep connection to place that have defined Gibson for thirty years.
The land remains the same. The curiosity remains the same. The wine just gets made by different hands.

Bin 75 is available from 26 October 2026, priced at AUD $385. It can be purchased at Gibson Wines Cellar Door, Light Pass, and online at gibsonwines.com.au. Presented in wooden single or 3-pack boxes.
