This year marks 30 years of Gibson Wines.
Thirty years of vineyards and vintages. Of experiments that worked and probably a few that didn’t. Of bottles opened around tables, friendships formed over a glass and plenty of stories collected along the way.
In 1996, Gibson Wines began with Rob and Anne Gibson and a belief in making wines with character, curiosity and a genuine connection to the Barossa.
Three decades later, much has changed. The wines have evolved, the family has grown and plenty of new faces have joined the Gibson story.
But some things haven’t changed at all.
Wine is still better when it’s shared.
And 30 years feels like a pretty good reason to get everyone together.
Festival of Gibson
On Thursday 15 October, we’re taking over the Weber Grill Academy in Rose Park for an evening celebrating the wines, people and stories that have shaped Gibson over the past three decades.
This isn't a formal wine dinner.
Think of it as an unserious event with serious wines.
The Gibson family, our winemakers and a few familiar Gibson faces will be pouring throughout the evening, with wines selected from across our 30 year story.
There will be current favourites alongside bottles that take us back through the years, giving us an opportunity to share where Gibson has been, where we are today and a few of the stories behind the wines along the way.

Of course, you can't celebrate 30 years on wine alone.
The team at Weber Grill Academy will be putting together an abundant roaming feast to enjoy throughout the evening, paired with our selection of Gibson wines.
No stiff formalities. No sitting through a lengthy wine lecture.
Just great food, beautiful wine and plenty of time to catch up with old friends, meet some new ones and perhaps hear a few stories that have become considerably more interesting with age.
An Evening About the People
While we're celebrating 30 years of Gibson Wines, this night isn't simply about us.
It's about the people who have been part of the journey.
The growers, winemakers, customers, trade partners, cellar door visitors, club members, friends and families who have opened our bottles, shared our wines and supported a small family owned Barossa winery over three decades.
Some of you have been with us almost from the beginning.
Some have discovered Gibson much more recently.
And some we'll be meeting for the first time on the night.
Old friends. New friends. And plenty of good company in between.
That's exactly how we'd like to celebrate 30 years.
