    Description

    Native to Spain, we discovered a small patch of Tempranillo in the Vine Vale subregion, in the Eastern foothills of the Barossa. Here, cooler air rolls down off the Eastern ranges and gently moderates temperatures during the heights of Summer.

    Our 2019 expression is shows typical Tempranilllo charm. Stone fruits of plum and black cherry, meet dark chocolate and subtle savoury herb curiosity.

      Early temperatures in October and December were well above average, enhancing rapid development. January was mild. Mild dry ripening conditions later combined with low yields led to good varietal expression in Tempranillo despite very early ripening.

    • Winemaking

      Crushed and seeded with AWRI yeast culture and fermented for 5-6 days. All second or third use hogshead storage for a period of 12 months and bottled in March. No filtration or fining.
