    Description

This wine is a special project of second generation at Gibson, Adam, who takes on “Duke” himself as a nickname. In the noble sense, Dukes are ranked below Emperors and Kings. As son to Rob, Adam argues that definition, instead claiming his moniker comes from his earlier days playing local football. He was well known for a fiery competitiveness and often being “Dukes Up” on the field.

The Duke Grenache/Shiraz blend contrasts with the boisterousness you may expect in a wine named after Adam. This wine is a story of elegance versus substance in red wine styles. Fresh mulberry and black cherry fruit characters on the nose are complemented with savoury spice and herb notes. The palate is medium bodied and soft, well-structured with juicy red cherry flavours, balanced with refreshing acidity and dry grainy tannins.

A window to a softer, considered and deeper side to “Duke” himself - perhaps. But he’ll never admit that.
